Medli my beloved, botw/totk rito style!🦅✨

I’ve had Wind Waker on the mind lately.. first zelda game I ever played & it’s so dear to my heart!! The art style and character designs are sooo iconic and don’t get me started on the MUSIC. I think I cried when I first heard the dragon roost island theme playing in botw

people be fucking normal abt ftm bottom surgery challenge.

None of the commenters are gonna see this, but! If anyone’s interested in meta or phalloplasty but is kind of on the fence because they’ve only heard Terrible Wretched Things about the surgeries and results, you should try to find a copy of Hung Jury by Trystan T. Cotten! It’s a collection of testimonials from FtMs who have had bottom surgery, including their reasons, details about some of their procedures, and individual satisfaction ratings, and it includes testimonials from several trans men of color!

image

This is the book that convinced a buddy of mine to go through with metoidioplasty! I pinky promise, the surgeries are way way way better and safer and more effective than we’ve been made to believe they are. If it’s a procedure you want/need for your health and happiness, it’s a procedure you deserve!

pulling this out of the tags in case anyone knows of any resources like the above for vaginoplasty.

A disabled person with dark skin in a wheelchair with a speech bubble that says: 'No marriage equality until people with disabilities can marry without losing benefits.'ALT
A chameleon with text that says 'Not all pain is visible.'ALT

Since July is Disability Pride Month

(as opposed to every other month when we're all demure about disability rights /gentle sarcasm)

I wanted to highlight one of my favorite artists: Liberal Jane.

Pointing out that someone else is transgender poses a safety risk to them. Even if you do so in a way that's celebratory. Even if you think their transgender status is well-known. Even if they haven't outright told you not to.

You don't need to say things like "trans w" when someone does a cool thing. You don't need to say "from one trans gal to another" in your messages. You don't need to tell trans people they "inspired you to come out". You don't need to pick out a trans flag-colored heart emoji when someone is having a bad day.

Don't out people for no reason. Not only is it a safety concern ('cause it signals to transphobes that someone is a potential target), it's rude as fuck. It communicates that someone's transness must be the most important thing about them. It communicates that you think of them as being transgender before you think of them as anything else. It communicates that their assigned gender at birth is inescapable and will forever burden them with a label. It presumes that they're okay with the label at all. Sometimes it can remind them of something they try actively to move on from and forget.

I've personally interacted with people who make it painfully apparent that they value me and my work primarily because they perceive me as transgender. For them I exist to make them feel good about how diverse their tastes are, or because they find the act of consuming art made by trans people to be somehow virtuous. Often they repeatedly point out their own transness because it's the only way they think I'll find them relatable as a person.

I get that community is important and that we should look out for each other, and having folks who are Proudly Visibly Transgender is important too - just don't assume that every person you happen to discover this fact about is interested in having their entire gender history proclaimed in this way.

got held up on the way to work today because there was a big snake trying to sun herself on the highway right on the way out of town & the lady in the grey subaru in front of me put her warning lights on & got out to try & shoo her into the grassy sunny verge on the other roadside. & it was afternoon and busy but the logging trucks stopped & waited & the family cars stopped & waited & the long haul truckers stopped & waited for that snake to cross the road. nobody so much as honked. & when the snake was safe the road was backed up in both directions but a fellow in a pickup truck waved at me to go ahead (i was waiting to turn right onto the highway) even though he could have made me wait until the whole long line of cars passed. what i am trying to say is: there is still love in this world. what i am trying to say is: happy pride to me & to that big old bull snake who will live to see another sunrise & to every person on that highway who decided that saving her was worth five minutes of delay

#i like to think data took him all the way to the brig tossed him in and left#and then came back 60 seconds later and was like ‘i believe i have successfully played a ‘practical joke’ on you :)’#riker loses it & claps him on the back like ‘wow. good job u rly had me going. dont ever fucking do that again’

Perfect.

Actually it’s 73 seconds. Data, knowing something of how human minds work, estimates that Riker will give him 60 seconds to come back (because humans prefer “round numbers”, however arbitrary the units). After 60 seconds it will take 4 seconds for Riker to fully process the conclusion that Data is, in fact, not coming back after all, and an additional 9 seconds to build to the optimum level of anxiety.

After all, comedy is timing.

I have to say—I assume the intention of the TOTK devs for players encountering their first Evermean was for them to just be strolling in the wood and then get jumpscared by a tree, which is all well and good. However, my first Evermean encounter, in which I was just trying to take a picture of a firefly and my camera suddenly locked onto the tree behind it instead with a message reading, “Evermean”, left me standing there in silence with a sense of dread creeping over me at the realization that there were hidden threats all around me that I’d never have noticed before, which I think we can safely say is way scarier.

please watch this tiktok (x)

There’s no way to tell where this goes.

Tumblr, buddy, listen to me. This is an unprecedented opportunity. You can snap up all of the pie here, and become defacto internet goodguy easy. All you gotta do is... drop the nsfw ban. Unambiguously. Announce that dicks are back on the menu. You want people subscribed the blogs? You want people to actually use your Post+ function? Porn. Let us use it for porn. The youngins aren't joining this site anyway, you're not competing with tiktok. The vaguely horny 20-40 demographic though? You can have that. You can have all of that. Think about it.

Do you know how many pinup artists alone are itching to come back to tumblr, but dont because of the unclear, seemingly arbitrary application of your nsfw policy? These are insanely talented people who are practically begging to give you content. For free. But you gotta change the policy. We can't keep dancing around this. Just think of publicity. The drama. A complete 180. You'd kill it tumblr. You could make it happen. Please.

This ⬆️⬆️⬆️ @staff take notes

wheres that picture of nathan fielder where hes like "listening to rock music outside of a police station" thats what the ppl in those extremely uwu "punk" posts come off as every time but theyre not doing it as a joke
